It’s intern season again at the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce. This year we are placing over 120 high school interns with host companies and organizations across the San Gabriel Valley. Over fifty employors have said YES to playing a vital role in the lives of our youth. This summer will mark the beginning of our partnership shaping students with hands-on experience in the workplace. Time spent in the professional arena serves as an invaluable living classroom.

BizFed (Los Angles County Business Federation) released the findings of its Annual Pulse Poll today demonstrating a massive increase in concern for housing costs throughout Los Angeles County. Housing, Land Use and Homelesses issues moved from low-level concerns in 2017 to among highest priorities of the business community in this year’s poll.

This Memorial Day please take a moment to remember the sacrifices of those who served, died or were wounded, for our the United States of America. Their devotion to our nation is what has kept America a republic where freedom, liberty and basic human rights are cherished. We are not perfect, and cannot ever be. But, even in troubled times, we should heed Abraham Lincoln and rely on, "the better angels of our nature".
