Mid-term Projects in the Business & Entrepreneurship Academy at Muir High School Involve Local Businesses

The Pasadena Chamber of Commerce and some of its members were part of the mid-term evaluation of students in the Business and Entrepreneurship Academy at John Muir High School in Pasadena Unified School District. Business partners were tasked with helping evaluate the Awesome Avocado project at John Muir.

Scammers disguising themselves as Pasadena Water and Power (PWP) employees are attempting to extort money from commercial and residential customers, threatening to shut off service unless a payment is made immediately over the phone.

Rose Buds, is the official kids club for the Rose Bowl Stadium and is available for children 12 and under.  Members of the Rose Buds will receive exclusive stadium gifts, experiences and benefits throughout the year.  Our first kick-off event for any member signed up will be a Play on the Rose Bowl Game Field occurring on January 5, 2018, just days after the big game, from 3:30p-5:30p.  Here all members will receive their goodie bag containing a stadium branded

Recently, the Internal Revenue Service approved non-profit 501(c)3 status for the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce Foundation. That means the foundation can solicit grants and donations as a fully qualified non-profit organization. Donations made to the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce Foundation are tax-deductible.

We are aware of several scams that are currently being foisted on our local businesses and residents.

We all need to be vigilant online. Recently, we have been contacted by Chamber members who received an email identified as coming from the Pasadena Chamber with a link to download a document to sign. THIS IS A SCAM. Note the return email address is not an @pasadena-chamber.org address. 

This is what some received: 

The Pasadena Police Department will begin closing the route used for the annual Rose Parade effective 10 p.m., Sunday, December 31, 2017. The closures will occur along Colorado Boulevard, at Orange Grove Boulevard, east to Sierra Madre Boulevard; and up Sierra Madre Boulevard to Paloma Street.
