In September, the Board of Directors of the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce held a brainstorming strategic planning session.

The results of that session were approved at its most recent Board meeting as the Chamber Program of Work for 2023.

LA County reported 932 new COVID-19 cases on March 24th. The County reported 10 deaths from COVID on march 24th.

Judy Chu. The goal is to raise $2500, which will support these businesses impacted by the mass shooting in Monterey Park.

The LA County Economic Opportunity Grants for small businesses are now open as of today (microbusinesses are still eligible during this phase, as are nonprofits). David Sinclair and I represented the economic development team at this morning’s LAEDC Economic Forecast, where the LA County DEO Director celebrated the phase 2 grant opening and spoke with regional, city and nonprofit stakeholders about connecting businesses to this opportunity and others provided by their office.

On January 14, 2023, Pasadena Police officers responded to an ATM in the area of 800 E. Colorado Blvd. regarding an armed robbery. Before officers arrived on scene, the suspect fled the area in a dark-colored sedan and was not located. The victim told officers, he returned to his vehicle after withdrawing cash from an ATM. The suspect approached him, pointed a handgun at him, and demanded his wallet. Fearing for his safety, the victim handed the suspect his wallet. The suspect then got into a dark-colored sedan and drove away.
