The minimum wage increase proposal in Pasadena (to go to $13.25 by 2018 and ultimately $15 by 2020) is being rushed to the Pasadena City Council for a decision. The meeting is Monday, February 1, 2016, at 6:30pm. (They are expected to discuss minimum wage at about 7:15 or so. If this issue is imoprtant to you, please plan to attend and have your voice heard.)

At the State of the City address, Mayor Terry Tornek announced that minimum wage increases would come to the City Council on February 1, 2016.
We are not sure if a decision is anticipated at that time, but anyone with contact with a Pasadena City Council member should take time to communicate with that person.
The Pasadena Chamber and the Small Business Development Center at Pasadeana City College present the first Brown Bag Lunch Workshop of 2016 on Thrusday, January 28th at noon at the Ice House Comedy Club at 24 North Mentor Avenue. Parking is free on the street or available in nearby lots for a fee.
Pasadena celebrated all things cheeseburger during Cheeseburger Week January 10th to 15th. Visitors enjoyed food created especially for the event, took advantage of great deals and meals, followed cheeseburger crawls and voted in the 2016 Cheeseburger Challenge. In all, 1246 votes were cast in the challenge to determine favorites in 14 categories ranging from Favorite Burger to favorite Dessert after a Burger.
