Beer, Brats and Books at Pasadena Library May 7th

The Friends of the Pasadena Public Library invite you to its 3rd Annual” Beer, Brats and Books” to be held on May 7th at 7PM in the main hall of Central Library located at 285 E. Walnut Street. Funds generated by this event will benefit “Born to Read Pasadena”, sponsored by the Pasadena Public Library. By providing first time mothers with books for infants and resources on parenting, Born to Read Pasadena aims to develop an early interest in reading.

Businesses interested in applying for the California Competes Tax Credit (CCTC) have until March 28 to submit their applications to the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz).

There will be at least $81 million in tax credits available for businesses that are expanding and adding jobs in the state. Businesses of all sizes are encouraged to apply.

Tom Sawyer Camps celebrate 90th anniversary

Tom Sawyer Camps is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year.  Established in 1926 in Laguna then moved to the Arroyo in 1944.  La Canada residents, Mike and Sally Horner bought the camp in 1974 and have continued to serve children ages 3 – 14 at the Hahamongna Watershed Park.
