Health & Fitness Expo: FREE EVENT!
The Pasadena Half Marathon & 5K Health and Fitness Expo will feature the latest developments in sports, fitness, and nutrition. In addition, it is the home of Packet Pick-Up for all half-marathon & 5K participants. The two-day Health & Fitness Expo is free and open to the public.

The public is invited to attend Mayor Terry Tornek’s State of the City address Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017, at the Pasadena Unified School District’s Washington STEAM Magnet Academy Gymnasium, 1505 N. Marengo Ave.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. following a brief Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to dedicate the new school gymnasium, a joint project by the City and the Pasadena Unified School District. The Mayor’s formal program begins at 7 p.m.

During Cheeseburger Week from January 8th to January 13th, Pasadena honors Lionel Sternberger's genius in being the first to put cheese to hamburger and serve it at the Rite Spot in Pasadena in 1924.

Cheeseburger Week 2017 is here!
During Cheeseburger Week from January 8th to January 13th, 2017, Pasadena honors Lionel Sternberger’s genius in being the first to put cheese to hamburger and serve it at the Rite Spot in Pasadena in 1924.
In 1924, teenaged Lionel Sternberger put cheese on a hamburger and sold it to a delighted customer at his father’s roadside stand, The Rite Spot, at 1500 West Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena. “The Aristocratic Burger” at the Rite Spot is the first recorded instance of a hamburger with cheese being cooked and served to a customer. The Rite Spot is long gone.
Hello, for once some good news about a tax: the sales tax rates in California have dropped.
Effective January 1, 2017, the sales tax rate in Pasadena will be 8.75%. The Sales tax rate in Los Angeles County is also 8.75%, as is the current sales tax rate in the City of Los Angeles.
Event will also raise money to support Pasadena Ronald McDonald House through sale of Pie ‘n Burger meals
