COVID-19 update for May 4, 2020

The LA County Department of Public Health has confirmed 1,172 deaths and 24, 215 cases of the Coronavirus as of Sunday. This includes This is the highest number of new cases reported to date. As of April 28, 2020, Public Health has identified 22,485 positive cases of COVID-19 across all areas of LA County.

While this is a tremendous burden on businesses and individuals, I am supportive of the effort to keep us all free of the Coronavirus. Our best outcome is to keep our communities and residents safe so, once businesses are able to reopen, they can serve healthy customers who are not worried about being infected.

COVID-19 Update for April 27, 2020

One more Pasadenan has died from complications associated with the Coronavirus and 30 additional cases of the virus were reported on Thursday, bringing the total cases to 293 and the death toll to 29, according to Pasadena officials. In addition, a National Guard medical unit  has been dispatched to Brighton Care facility. LA County also announced that Coronavirus is the leading killer of county residents.

On Tuesday, Gov. Gavin Newsom and state public health officials told Californians that they should expect things to look much different when they are able to re-enter public spaces.

Restaurants, he said, will probably reopen with some of their tables gone. Servers may be wearing masks or gloves; menus may be disposable.
