Moscow Ballet’s “Great Russian Nutcracker” is coming to the Pasadena Civic Auditorium on Wednesday, December 4, for a magical evening with world-class artists, over 200 dazzling costumes, stunning sets, towering puppets and soaring birds.

“Great Russian Nutcracker” is a Christmas story and a folk tale that’s appropriate for all ages. The performance features 36 Russian dancers, with life-sized Russian nesting dolls, a 15-foot tall Rat King with red blinking eyes, falling snow and many other effects.

The show features a two-person Dove of Peace with a 20-foot wingspan opening Act II in the Land of Peace and Harmony, exclusive to Moscow Ballet. The performance – two hours long with a 20-minute intermission – includes Tchaikovsky’s complete “Nutcracker” score performed by the Moscow Festival Orchestra and recorded exclusively for Moscow Ballet.

The New York Times calls the show “Hot ticket!” and the Los Angeles Times calls it “Bravura Expertise!”

Tickets start at $29.
