One of Southern California’s largest, free Spring Egg Hunts takes place in Pasadena at the City’s third annual Egg Bowl and Festival, www.cityofpasadena.net/eggbowl, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, April 15, 2017, at the historic Rose Bowl Stadium, 1001 Rose Bowl Dr.
Thousands of youthful egg hunters will have the chance to scoop up some of the 70,000 eggs that will be available on the stadium’s football field during the free event for girls and boys up to 12 years old. More than 6,000 participants are expected.
The day’s excitement begins with a special “VIP Bunny Brunch” in the stadium’s Terry Donahue Pavilion, Stadium Club Lounge, from 8-10 a.m. Brunch attendees can take photos with the Big Bunny and participate in a VIP egg hunt before the free event opens to the public. Fresh pancakes, eggs and sausages hot off the griddle come with the brunch. Tickets are $22 for adults and for children ages 9 and up. Brunch tickets are $14 for children ages 5 to 8 and children ages 4 and younger are free with one paid adult admission per one free child.

The main event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. includes a Spring Festival with music, bunny ear contests, puppet show, arts and crafts, face painting, for-sale food and more! Remember to bring your best egg hunting basket or you can purchase a festive egg bucket for $3. This is a family friendly, free event. Parents are encouraged to bring a camera and let the youngsters do the hunting without help.
Three separate hunts for kids up to 12 years old will occur at 11:30 a.m.; 12:45 p.m. and 2 p.m. A separate area for children with special needs or ADA assistance will be available, along with an area for infants and toddlers. One hunt per child is recommended. Please remember to be on your most “egg-cellent” behavior as this is a fun event for children only.
No registration fee is required. There is a nominal fee for various festival attractions and food.
Free rides to and from the Egg Bowl and Festival are offered on Pasadena Transit, Route 51, Saturday buses from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Route 51 runs approximately every 22 minutes and every 11 minutes between 10:30 a.m. and 2:20 p.m. The route goes from Old Pasadena, Memorial Park Gold Line Station, along Fair Oaks Avenue down to the Rose Bowl Stadium stop, about a five-minute walk to the festival site. Free parking is available for motorists in Lot F who drive to the event.
