At Stone Company Store Pasadena, we equally revere ALL Stone Brewing Co. beers, even the ones we have on draft 365 days a year, as they are all most definitely out-of-the-ordinary. With that said, occasionally we are able to offer full-on extraordinary beers, i.e., ones that are rare, one-off, vintage, barrel-aged, experimental, etc. Generally, we have one of these "specialty" draft beers come online every Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, with a "specialty" bottle release every Sunday. Here's a small sample of the extraordinary beers headed our way in the next few weeks.

Sunday, September 11
Distill the last twenty years of Stone Brewing into four beers, and you’d probably come up with the beers in the 22oz mixed pack that debuts today. It contains 20th Anniversary Encore Series: Stone 5th Anniversary IPA, 20th Anniversary Encore Series: Stone 10th Anniversary IPA, 20th Anniversary Encore Series: Stone 15th Anniversary Escondidian Imperial Black IPA, and Stone 20th Anniversary IPA. The Stone Encore series is a collection of re-brews of some of our most iconic beers, so what you’d be enjoying isn’t the original batch, but a fresh, resurrected brew, based on the same recipe. We think that’s the best way to recapture the heady, hoppy intensity that you may remember from all those years ago. We will also have these same beers available on draft on-and-off for the next several weeks.
Monday, September 12
A micro-trend in the last couple years has seen craft breweries semi-ironically interpreting “lower forms” of beer, like ultra-light carb-reduced beers and high-gravity malt liquors. Today’s small-batch draft offering from Arrogant Brewing, Bastard Brewing Pilot: Malt Liquor, is one of the latter. Our brewers’ tasting notes describe a delightful basket of tropical fruit on the nose, with a pretty serious 9% ABV.
Tuesday, September 13
Stone Barrel-Aged Imperial Saison w/ Blackberry pours a visually delightful purple color and has plenty of fruity aromas to match. It has a dry enough finish to keep from being cloying but is definitely a different beast than our usual hop-blasted, bitter monsters. It’ll be on tap starting today.
Thursday, September 15
Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens - Liberty Station Great Bowman’s Beard is our perennially available Scotch ale. Malt-focused, with notes of plum, raisin, and caramel, it is rich & viscous enough to drink as dessert. We’ll tap a few kegs of it starting today.
Friday, September 16
At this point in 2016, there will be eight beers in the Stone Encore Series pantheon.
