estaurant weeks seem to be getting more and more popular each year, with DineLA Restaurant week lasting for much more than just a week and becoming a seasonal event to look forward to. There’s also Pasadena’s own Pasadena Restaurant Week. With summer here and a food-filled city to explore, DineLA Restaurant Week Summer 2016 is officially around the corner and offers two weeks of lunches and dinner deals to try, from Monday, July 18- Sunday, July 31.

DineLA is held twice a year and put on the Los Angeles Tourism and Convention Board. It offers diners the chance to try everything from family diners to ethnic cuisines to expensive fine dining experiences at a fraction of the price. Restaurants set their own menu options and decide whether or not to participate in lunch or dinner—or both!

Because of the reasonable pricing or special offers made by participating DineLA restaurants: Lunch (2+ Courses): $15, $20, $25 and Dinner for Dinner (3+ Courses): $29, $39, $49—there’s also the $95+ dineL.A. Exclusive Series.

With all of Los Angeles’s restaurant scene participating in the event, some spots fill up quickly, so it’s best to call ahead and make a reservation.

To check out what’s going on in Pasadena, visit the official website at http://www.discoverlosangeles.com/dinela-los-angeles-restaurant-week/ and then look at the dining options in Pasadena and South Pasadena using the neighborhood tool.

Alexander’s Steakhouse is still relatively new to town but is undoubtedly amongst the most luxurious spots around. They are participating in DineLA at the $95+ DineLA Exclusive Series-level.  For DineLA, they are offering a six-course menu for $115. Each course sounds better than the last, with a supplemental foie gras option available as well. Go with a partner so that you can share everything and enjoy a truly special dinner.

On the other side of the dining spectrum is the very reasonably priced $15 3-course prix fixe lunch at Canoe House in South Pasadena, where you can have your choice of soups or salad followed by a Hawaiian-influenced entrée and key lime pie or pineapple upside down cake to finish your meal.

With deals available at so many different price points, you can afford to try them all—too bad the event only lasts for 2 weeks.
