To get a better sense of what Congresswoman Judy Chu’s Annual Job Hunters Boot Camp is all about – Please see the following:
Job Hunters Boot Camp is a Congressional effort to address the issue of unemployment in the District and is intended to benefit the unemployed residents during this economic recovery and assist them in getting back into the work force. This community event is absolutely free. There will be a series of workshops designed to help people develop new skills so that they can have an advantage during the job hunt. There will also be resource tables where attendees can visit and obtain further information on what training, classes, and other employment opportunities are available.
The Boot Camp will be of two-folds:
1. A series of workshops on various topics that provide job seekers a better understanding of the current job market and what skills they need to get back into that market
2. Resources Tables where attendees can visit to obtain further information on what training, classes, opportunities are available for them to utilize.
Some of the Workshop topics that are available, but not limited to:
1) Interview Skills/Resume Writing
2) Starting Your Own Business
3) Job Searching Using Technology
4) Green Jobs
5) Mature/Senior Applicants
6) Veterans Seminar
With Additional Services Available, but not limited to:
1) One-on-One Resume Critique
2) Resource Tables
3) Employment Opportunities
Again, this community event is designed for the residents of the 27th Congressional District. Its effort is to address the issue of unemployment within Congresswoman Chu’s 27th Congressional District and acts as a free resource where participants can engage in obtaining employment opportunities.
