On December 8th, all retail food establishments were notified via email that the City will allow restaurants to maintain outdoor furniture for public use during the State's latest Safer At Home Order. While most restaurateurs have already removed their tables, chairs and outdoor furniture from their outdoor dining areas, restaurants have the option to maintain tables, chairs and other fixtures for public use during the time that outdoor dining is prohibited. To read the full text of that email, click here.

Two California udges, including James Chalifant in Los Angeles, have ruled that orders closing restaurants are illegal. Chalifant ruled that Los Angeles County did not base its closure orders on any available data and instead made an arbitrary ruling.

Pasadena Independent Restaurants, the Pasadena Chamber and the The California Coalition for Safe Reopening (our Chamber is a founder) hosted a socially disantaced and masked car caravan to protest closure orders not based on data. more than 100 cars, vans and truck carrying business owners, workers and others drive through Pasadena on Saturday to protest the cosures.
