At Stone Company Store Pasadena, we equally revere ALL Stone Brewing Co. beers, even the ones we have on draft 365 days a year, as they are all most definitely out-of-the-ordinary. With that said, occasionally we are able to offer full-on extraordinary beers, i.e., ones that are rare, one-off, vintage, barrel-aged, experimental, etc. Generally, we have one of these "specialty" draft beers come online every Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, with a "specialty" bottle release every Sunday. Here's a small sample of the extraordinary beers headed our way in the next week.

Note: for all to-go beer (e.g., growlers, bottles, kegs), everyone in your party must be 21+ and in possession of valid, government-issued ID.

Are you a fan of well-aged vintage beer? Have you never had the pleasure of tasting it? 2005 Stone Imperial Russian Stout is built to suit either way. If cellared properly, high ABV imperial stouts go from roasty and biting to chocolatey and smooth. It will be on tap for growler fills and in-house pours for a limited time, starting today.

Thursday, August 18

Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens – Liberty Station Phataskala Red 2X IPA, a oomph-ier riff on our enormously popular spring seasonal, Stone Pataskala Red X IPA, is on tap today. If you miss that toasty malt and those burst-from-the-glass tropical hop notes, this is your chance to experience them once more.

Friday, August 19

For those unable to attend the main Stone 20th Anniversary Celebration & Invitational Beer Festival down in San Marcos, we here in Pasadena present “Ready, Set, Stone!” - an out-and-out explosion of specialty beers, both on tap and in bottles. Barrel-aged small-batch creations not available anywhere else, several of the Stone 20th Anniversary Encore Series brews, and so many more! Many of these beers are one-keg-and-done (or one-case-and-done), so early birds, worms: all that jazz.

Who says the world needs another IPA? We STILL do. Stone 20th Anniversary Encore Series: Beachwood / Heretic / Stone Still Unapologetic IPA is based on the original 2014 Stone Collaboration recipe with some hops substitutions. (Azacca, Idaho 7, and Motueka play starring roles this time around.) It’s less dank and earthy but more intensely tropical than the 2014 iteration. It’s available on tap & in 22oz bottles, starting today.

Tuesday, August 23

Stone Barrel-Aged Brown Ale w/Balaton Sour Cherries is oaky, tannic, tart, and fruity. As such, it’s a slam-dunk to help stubborn wine-only drinkers see the light. It’s back on tap for growler fills and pours starting today.

Thursday, August 25

Two wacky and wild beers come online today. Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens - Liberty Station Jonah Ray / Stone The Notorious P.O.G. is a fruit-blasted, assertively tart beer. It’s a perfect intermingling of Pog juice (passion fruit, orange, and guava) and a dry, sour, funky Berliner weisse. It gets even weirder (in a good way!) with Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens - Liberty Station The Half Hour Happy Hour w/Alison & Alex / Stone – Super Popular At Beer. This one’s an amber lager brewed with hazelnuts, habanero peppers, and wildflower honey. The pepper heat is restrained, allowing you to appreciate the smooth lager character and honey-nut flavors.
