PWP Launches Public Survey on City’s Future Energy Plan
Pasadena Water and Power (PWP) has launched an online survey seeking community input on the City’ energy future as part of the Power Integrated Resource Plan (IRP). The IRP is the long-range blueprint for providing our customers with reliable, environmentally responsible electric service, competitive rates and energy independence over the next two decades. The IRP takes into account future energy demand, advances in renewable energy resources and technology, energy efficiency, conservation, forecast changes in regulatory requirements, among other considerations.
Community input is vital to the IRP process. Public feedback helps PWP understand not only the views of residents and businesses, but also helps identify key issues and concerns. Survey topics include: Pasadena’s renewable energy goals, the cost of future electricity, PWP’s use of coal as a resource, local solar energy generation, energy conservation and PWP customer satisfaction. PWP takes every comment seriously, and strongly encourages residents to share their views.
To take the IRP survey, visit PWPweb.com/IRP. There, residents can also review the IRP material, sign up for IRP updates, and submit questions.
