To shine a spotlight on small and independent local businesses heading into the holiday shopping season, the city of Pasadena and Visit Pasadena have partnered to launch the “Authentically Yours, Pasadena” campaign, which begins on Small Business Saturday, Nov. 25.

The campaign will create welcome stations at 25 small businesses across the city to help inspire both community members and visitors to shop small and dine local. The station will be stocked with canvas shopping tote bags that will be gifted to shoppers on a first-come, first-served basis.

The aim of “Authentically Yours, Pasadena” is to promote economic growth, job creation and community cohesion through supporting locally owned businesses.

“The ‘Authentically Yours, Pasadena’ campaign amplifies the people, places and great finds that give Pasadena its vibrancy and personal flavor,” said David Klug, economic development director for the city of Pasadena. “Shop small and dine local to discover the special connections and one-of-a-kind treasures found only when you (shop in Pasadena).”

This year’s Chamber membe participating businesses are Lavender & Honey in the East Washington Commercial Area; April Blooms in the South Fair Oaks; Rosebud Coffee in the Lamanda Commercial Area; I Like Pie Bakeshop in Old Pasadena; The Mercadita Monarca Collective and Vroman’s Bookstore in Playhouse Village.

“Pasadena is lucky to have so many wonderful locally owned shops and eateries that make this city a beloved gathering place for celebrations, special events and seasonal festivities,” said Kristin McGrath, executive director of Visit Pasadena. “During this joyful season, we encourage visitors and our Pasadena community to support local talented makers and curators.

“Come experience Pasadena’s authentic, local flavor while shopping for gifts and dining out.”
