Dine Out Pasadena Can Provide Funding to Restaurants to Support Creating or Improving Outdoor Dining

From Pasadena NOW: Pasadena’s Economic Development team recently launched Dine Out Pasadena, a pilot program offering eligible restaurants the opportunity to apply for up to $45,000 in grant funds that could be used to create on-street dining areas.

Pasadena Economic Development staff kicked off Dine Out Pasadena, a program that aims to boost Pasadena’s dining scene by creating on-street dining spaces, last May 21.

According to Klug, application for the grant funds will close on July 1.

Eligible applicants include restaurants that have an active Pasadena license and are located within Pasadena as well as restaurants that operate in a location approved for on-street dining.

Currently, restaurants with parking lots or private property dining are not eligible for funding in the pilot round but will be considered in the future rounds of the program.

“This will be phase one in the program,” said Klug. “And I think the Council will also be seeing some code amendments to allow for dining and private parking lots. So those restaurants that now have outdoor dining will be eligible once the code amendments are brought forth and considered by the City Council for approval. So that’ll be the second phase.”
