2014 Best of Pasadena Reader's Poll Rules and Methodology:

The Best of Pasadena Awards are open to all people, places and businesses located within PW's circulation area which includes: Pasadena, South Pasadena, Altadena, Arcadia, Eagle Rock, Glendale, Alhambra, Sierra Madre, La Canada, La Crescenta, Montrose, and San Marino.

Readers may vote either by paper ballot contained in the issues dated 7/31, 8/7, 14 and 21, or online at pasadenaweekly.com. Photocopies will not be accepted. By voting, voters agree to join Pasadena Weekly's mailing list. Only votes from emails registered with Pasadena Weekly will be valid.

Readers voting by paper ballot must fill out their own ballot, and must include either a valid email address or a valid telephone number. Any ballots with incomplete or invalid information will be disqualified. Two ballots per IP address will be accepted for votes cast online. Any ballot containing votes for the same individual or business in more than 3 categories will be disqualified.

Multiple ballots with what in the judgment of PW contain similar voting patterns (a.k.a. "Block Voting") and/or with similar handwriting will be disqualified. Block voting from any IP address will result in all votes originating from that IP to be disqualified. Any businesses or individuals suspected of attempting to stuff the ballot box or circumvent the rules will be disqualified from award eligibility. Only businesses in good standing with PW will be eligible for awards.

All paper ballots must be received in the office of Pasadena Weekly by the close of business on August 27, 2014. Online voting will be open from August 4 through Sept. 1, 2014.
Except in the case of ties, each category will have one Winner and two Reader Recommended (runner-up) awardees. The maximum number of awards (Winner and/or Reader Recommended) is three per entity. Awardees will be notified by the staff of PW only and the results will be published in the Best of Pasadena Issue dated October 9, 2014. Awardees will also be invited to the exclusive Best of Pasadena Winner's Party scheduled for October 10, 2014 at Noor Ballroom.

The Best of Pasadena Awards are determined by the readers of Pasadena Weekly. The management and staff of Pasadena Weekly do not determine the winners and the results may not reflect the viewpoints of the staff of PW.
