242 years ago, a gathering of political and thought leaders representing most of the English colonies in the new world, conceived the Declaration of Independence, a revolutionary document that grounded governing rights in those who are governed.
As we celebrate the 4th of July holiday, let's take a moment to remember the visionary risk-takers who, according to Abraham Lincoln, "broght forth on this continent a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal."
