This information provides a greater awareness to the Pasadena community. The critical events detailed below are merely a snapshot of the calls received to the Police Communications Center every day. Your police department strives to better serve the Pasadena community. Interim Police Chief Cheryl Moody continues to adhere to the principles of the “Pasadena Way” as she leads the Police Department into its new chapter. These principles will forever have a lasting impact on all employees who serve in the organization, as we continue to police with compassion and best intentions.

February 4, 2022 at 6:4pam: Pasadena Officers responded to a business in the 100 block of N. Lake Ave. regarding a disturbance. The caller reported there was a victim inside of the business who appeared to be suffering from a gunshot wound. The investigation revealed the victim had been struck while locking his bicycle. The suspect was seen holding a firearm and demanded the victim’s bicycle. The suspect rode off on the bike and the victim ran into the store for assistance. The firearm was likely a pellet gun and the injuries sustained were not life threatening. The victim was treated by paramedics at the scene.

February 4, 2022 at 5:45pm: Pasadena Officers responded to the 1500 block of Marengo Ave. in regards to an armed robbery. The victims work for a delivery company and were parked in the parking lot when approached by the suspects. The suspects showed the victims a firearm and demanded money. One victim gave business currency to the suspects and the suspects fled on foot. The victims were not injured.

February 5, 2022 at 1:55pm: Pasadena Officers attempted to stop a vehicle for several vehicle code violations in the area of Colorado Blvd. from San Gabriel Blvd. The suspect fled in the vehicle and a pursuit was initiated. The pursuit ended at Lake Ave. and Colorado Blvd. after the driver suddenly stopped and exited the vehicle. The driver was safely detained and preliminary investigation revealed the driver was under the influence of alcohol.

February 5, 2022 at 10:17pm: Pasadena Officers stopped a vehicle in the area of Colorado Bl. and Virginia Ave. for a vehicle code violation. Upon contacting the driver, officers discovered the driver was unlicensed and had previously been convicted of a felony. A search of the vehicle was conducted at which time officers located a firearm. Because of his previous conviction, the driver was arrested and transported to the Pasadena Police Department jail for the weapons violation.

February 6, 2022 at 8:27am: Pasadena Officers responded to 200 block of E. Holly St. regarding a robbery. The victim was walking her dog when the suspect approached her and grabbed her cell phone from her. The suspect punched the victim in the face several times before forcibly taking the victim’s property. When officers arrived, a Good Samaritan had assisted the victim in returning her property and the suspect was still in the immediate area. Officers arrested the suspect and Paramedics were requested for the victim. The victim’s injuries were not serious in nature.

February 6, 2022 at 4:49pm: Pasadena Officers responded to a restaurant in the 3000 block of E. Colorado Bl. regarding an armed robbery. After an employee finished preparing the suspects food, one suspect pulled a handgun on the employee and demanded money from the register. The employee complied. Once in possession of the loss, both suspects fled the business. There were no injuries reported during this incident and the suspects were not immediately located.

February 9, 2022 at 6:52am: Pasadena Officers responded to the area of Orange Grove Bl. and Rosemont St. regarding a collision involving a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle. Upon arrival, officers located an unconscious pedestrian in the street who appeared to be suffering from significant injuries. Paramedics transported the pedestrian to a local hospital in critical condition where he was pronounced deceased shortly after his arrival. Members of the Traffic Section’s Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) responded to the scene to conduct the investigation.

February 10, 2022 at 1:31pm: Pasadena Officers responded to the 2200 block of Foothill Bl. regarding a male who was assaulting a female. With the help of the Police Department’s helicopter crew, officers were directed to the male who was seated inside of a vehicle. As officers attempted to make contact, the male fled in the vehicle at a high rate of speed and almost immediately, collided into a curb. The male driver fled on foot from the disabled vehicle and was eventually located after a lengthy search. Once in custody, officers located a firearm and narcotics in the possession of the suspect. He was arrested and booked for multiple felony charges.

February 10, 2022 at 3:53pm: Pasadena Officers responded to the 1700 block of Belmont Ave. regarding the brandishing of a firearm. Officers discovered the incident resulted from a family dispute and the incident occurred after the victim began arguing with a family member who was located inside of a vehicle. The family member exited the car holding a firearm, pointed it at the relative and made threats. Once completing the threats, the suspect re-entered the vehicle and fled the location.

February 11, 2022 at 8:42pm: Pasadena Officers responded to the 1700 block of N. Marengo Ave. regarding a family member threatening other family members with a knife. Upon arrival, officers located the suspect in a vehicle parked near the residence. Officers detained the suspect without incident and located a knife in the car. Family members told officers the suspect had made threats of violence while walking towards the victims. Officers arrested the suspect for assault with a deadly weapon.

February 12, 2022 at 9:56am: Pasadena Officers responded to a disturbance call at an apartment complex in the 1400 block of N. Marengo Ave. The victim reported someone was knocking on the front door of their residence with a handgun. The victim provided a description of the suspect and when officers arrived, they detained the suspect near the victim's apartment. The victims identified the suspect stating the suspect had a handgun and threatened them. Officers searched the location; however, they could not locate the weapon. The suspect was arrested for felony charges and outstanding warrants.

February 13, 2022 at 2:12am: Pasadena Officers received a ShotSpotter notification and responded to the area of Hammond St. and Summit Ave. The first officer arrived on scene within three minutes. A canvass of the area resulted in locating evidence of a shooting. No 9-1-1 calls were received and no victims were located. The investigation is ongoing.

February 13, 2022 at 1:54pm: Pasadena Officers responded to a ShotSpotter notification in the 1800 block of Navarro Avenue. The first officers arrived on scene within one minute and observed a vehicle with three occupants. These individuals were later determined to be the victims of the shooting. One victim sustained minor injuries because of the shooting and was treated by paramedics. The other victims were not injured. Officers canvassed the area and located further evidence of the shooting. The investigation is ongoing.

February 14, 2022 at 2:30am: Pasadena Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for vehicle code violations on the 210 freeway. The driver initially stopped; however, once the officers made contact, the driver sped away. A short pursuit ensued but ended when the driver exited the freeway at Madre St. and Walnut St. Officers safely took the suspect into custody and subsequently arrested him for several vehicle code violations as well as an outstanding arrest warrant.

February 15, 2022 at 9:40pm: Pasadena Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Sunset Ave. and Yale St. for a vehicle code violation. The driver’s license was suspended and consented to a search of his vehicle. Officers located illegal narcotics and un-serialized firearm, commonly referred to as a “Ghost gun” during the search. The driver was arrested and booked at the Pasadena Police jail.

February 17, 2022 at 12:58pm: Officers attempted to stop a vehicle driven by a person who was wanted for domestic violence. The known suspect failed to stop and a vehicle pursuit ensued. The suspect eventually stopped in the 1700 block of E. Corson St. and fled from the vehicle. With the assistance of the Pasadena Police Helicopter crew, the suspect was located and arrested for numerous crimes.

February 18, 2022 at 9:28pm: Pasadena Officers responded to an injury collision at the intersection of Washington Pl. and Sunset Ave. A pickup truck traveling on Washington Pl. collided into an unoccupied parked vehicle. Two passengers had to be extricated from the truck and were transported to a local hospital. Once at the hospital, one passenger’s condition worsened and later succumbed to his injuries. The Pasadena PD Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) responded to investigate the collision and it preliminarily appeared alcohol was a factor in the collision.

February 18, 2022 at 10:53pm: While conducting extra patrols in an effort to reduce recent violence trends, officers observed a suspect spray-painting a wall with gang graffiti in the 2000 block of Lincoln Ave. Officers detained the suspect however, an associated vehicle fled. Within a short period, officers located the associated vehicle and contacted two individuals near the vehicle. Officers recovered a discarded handgun in close proximity to the two individuals. The investigation into their involvement with the possession of this handgun is ongoing.

February 19, 2022 at 10:27pm: Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for violations in the area of Holly St. and Raymond Ave. As the officers approached the vehicle, they could see a firearm resting on the floorboard of the passenger compartment. The driver was immediately detained without incident and further investigation revealed that the firearm was loaded. The driver was a convicted felon and was arrested for the weapons violation.

February 23, 2022 at 6:56am: Officers responded to the 800 block of Earlham St. in regards to a "ShotSpotter" notification. When officers arrived, they located a victim and found evidence of a shooting. The victim stated he was in his parked vehicle when the unknown suspect shot at him with a handgun. The victim was able to escape with only minor injuries and was treated by paramedics at the scene. Detectives are continuing their investigation into this incident.

February 23, 2022 at 1:47pm: Officers conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle on the 210 freeway after witnessing several vehicle code violations. Upon contacting the driver, it was discovered he did not possess a valid driver’s license. The driver was asked to exit the vehicle and provided consent to a search his vehicle. The search revealed several pounds of narcotics. The driver was arrested for driving without a valid driver’s license and transportation of narcotics.

February 23, 2022 at 5:44pm: Officers responded to a call of a person with a firearm in the parking structure located in the 100 block of E. Holly St. The victim reported that he had returned to his parked vehicle and discovered someone was rummaging through the vehicle. The victim confronted the suspect and an argument ensued. During the confrontation, the suspect pulled out a firearm and pointed it at the victim. The victim was in fear and immediately stopped as the suspect fled. The victim was not injured and there was no loss from his vehicle.

February 23, 2022 at 6:49pm: Officers responded to the 700 block of Earlham St. concerning a ShotSpotter alert. Officers canvassed the area and found evidence of a shooting. One unoccupied parked vehicle was struck but no victims or suspects were located. The investigation is ongoing as it appears this shooting is related to the shooting that occurred earlier in the day.

February 25, 2022 at 10:07pm: During a California Office of Traffic Safety sponsored traffic enforcement program concentrating on DUI drivers, Pasadena Police Officers established a checkpoint near Fair Oaks Ave. and Walnut St. A driver drove his vehicle through the checkpoint after he was directed to stop. Officers followed the vehicle and contacted the driver once he parked in the area of La Pintoresca Dr. and Claremont St. As Officers attempted to contact the driver, he resisted. Officers overcame his resistance and detained him. The driver exhibited signs of intoxication and was arrested for DUI.

February 26, 2022 at 1:29am: Officers stopped a vehicle near Fair Oaks Ave. and Claremont St. after observing a traffic violation. The driver of the vehicle was on probation with a search & seizure condition. Another occupant was on active parole. Based on the search conditions of the occupants, the vehicle was searched and an un-serialized handgun was found in the property of one passenger. The passenger was arrested for weapon charges and it was also learned he had an active arrest warrant.

February 26, 2022 at 11:21pm: The Pasadena Police Department received a call for service regarding a disturbance in the 1100 block of N. Summit Ave. When officers arrived on scene, they quickly learned the occupants inside the vehicle that had left the location as the officers were arriving, were in possession of a firearm. Officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and contacted the occupants. A passenger admitted to being in possession of the firearm. All occupants were quickly detained and a gun, equipped with an extended magazine, was located inside of the vehicle.

February 27, 2022 at 3:26am: Officers responded to the report of a traffic collision followed by gunfire in the 200 block of Del Rey Ave. Officers located an abandoned vehicle at the scene but no victims or suspects. Witnesses reported two males ran from the vehicle immediately after the collision. Officers canvassed the area and besides the disabled vehicle, they found evidence of a shooting and a large amount of discarded narcotics. There are no known injuries and this investigation is ongoing.

February 27, 2022 at 1:53pm: Officers responded to call for service of an assault at a retail store in the 700 block of E. Colorado Blvd. The investigation revealed the victim was involved in a verbal altercation with two suspects, which quickly escalated to a physical assault. During the assault, the suspects threw rocks at the victim and took money from the victim’s pockets. Paramedics treated the victim for his injuries and he was transported to a local hospital. This investigation is ongoing.

February 27, 2022 at 4:53pm: Officers responded to the 1300 block of N. Fair Oaks Ave. after receiving a "ShotSpotter" notification. Upon arrival, officers located a gunshot victim. Preliminary, the investigation revealed a physical altercation between the victim and another female preceded the shooting. This investigation is ongoing
