Cheeseburger Week returns January 26th

Enjoy a gourmet cheeseburger specially prepared, grill top delicacies done the old-school way or stop by yuor favorite for a cheeseburger as we celebrate the invention of the cheeseburger. That's right, the cheeseburger was first created and served to a customer by 16 year-old Lionel Sternberger at his father's roadside stand, The Rite Spot, in west Pasadena in 1924. It predates Route 66, but The Rite Spot sat at the corner of Avenue 64 and Colorado Street (now Boulevard) just the other side of the Colorado Street Bridge when young Lionel was motivagted to place a slab of cheese on a burger. His customers loved it and The Aristocratic Burger: A Hamburger with Cheese became a staple at the Roadside Stand which soon becamse a full-service restaurant on the same site.

Find out who is serving what, including an amazing cheeseburger dessert item that looks amazingly like the entree (from The Terrace at the Langham) at www.pasadenarestaurantweek.com. Happy Burgering!
