Pasadena Business and Economic Summit examined the future of Pasadena's prosperity

The Pasadena Chamber of Commerce and Verizon brought together leaders of business and industry for a  forum on the local economy and the future of business in Pasadena at the seventh Pasadena Business and Economic Summit.

Will Pasadena’s Prosperity Endure? featured presentations and discussions by economic experts and industry leaders. Somjita Mitra, Ph.D., Director of the Institute for Applied Economics at the Los Angeles Economic Development Corporation provided an overview of the economy, including factors that could influence our local prosperity, focusing on the San Gabriel Valley and Pasadena. Jesus Roman of Verizon explained the positive impact of 5G communication technology will have on local businesses (and residents). Mike Ross of the Pasadena Center Operatin Company discussed tourism and hospitality in Pasadena and the ecoomic impact on our local area. he also talked about efforts underway in Pasadena to enhance visitor and business travel. Colleen Carey of Lee and Associates talked about the local commercial real estate markets, trends and challenges.

Pasadena Vice Mayor Tyron Hamptom welcomed guests. Don Schweitzer of the Law Offices of Donald P. Schweitzer, Chamber board member and chair of the Economic and Business Development Committee, hosted the event which was presented by Verizon and sponsored by Wells Fargo.
