In February, the Pasadena City Council voted to increase the local minmum wage in Pasadena. The minimum wage for those employing 26 or more people will be $14.25 per hour starting July 1, 2019. For those with 25 or fewer employees, the minimum wage will be $13.25 per hour.

In November, Pasadena voters overwhelmingly approved an increase in the local sales tax to 10.25%. That increase went into effect April 1, 2019. At that time any sales or services subject to sales tax will be required to collect the entire 10.25%.
The increase does not impact areas outside of Pasadena unless those areas also increased their local sales taxes.
