Thank you PasadenaNOW:
In its continued efforts to reach out to the public regarding the selection of the next city manager, the City of Pasadena is asking residents to complete a 5-minute survey to share the characteristics, experience and background they would like to see in the next city manager.
The survey can be accessed by clicking here.
The city opened recruitment for the City Manager manager position earlier this month.
“We are a world-class city that prides itself on providing full service to our residents including our own police, fire, utilities and health departments. We understand the complexity of local government and strive to recruit a City Manager who can lead a dynamic and complex municipality and is passionate about serving the people of Pasadena,” said Pasadena Mayor Victor Gordo when recruitment began.
The City Manager serves as the city’s top executive and oversees a public sector agency, public/private partnerships, and a full-service City with robust services with an approximate budget of $900 million and a dedicated and talented staff of approximately 2,000.
The City Manager will support an experienced and committed City Council and an engaged community of approximately 140,000. In addition to overseeing the municipal administration, the ideal candidate will also partner in the oversight and management of the City-owned Rose Bowl Stadium, Convention Center and Visitors Bureau, and Pasadena Community Public Access Television.
The salary range is listed as $290,000 to $330,000 and negotiable depending upon experience and qualifications.
Candidate interviews are scheduled for June 3rd and June 4th in person.
The position became available in December after former City Manager Steve Mermell retired.
