This year’s festival lineup features performances by Atlas Genius, Bear Hands, The Mowgli’s, Small Black, Nahko and Medicine for the People, PAPA, James Supercave, Pr0files, Phantoms, The Dead Ships, HUNNY, CLARA-NOVA, Thee Commons, and many more.
The all-day, all-ages, FREE music festival takes place on 6 main stages, with an additional 30+ stages and performance venues throughout Downtown Pasadena. The final Make Music Pasadena lineup will total more than 150 bands, featuring an eclectic mix of diverse music, including seasoned performers and emerging homegrown talent, coming together for one day to celebrate the spirit of music. Twelve hours of unparalleled musical programming showcase almost every genre, including electronica, indie and alternative rock, world, folk, Latin, funk, and jazz.
Music lovers of every genre can take to the streets of historic Pasadena and enjoy a full day of FREE concerts on stages throughout Pasadena’s charming urban spaces – parks, alleys, churches, museums, rooftops, and plazas. A section of Historic Colorado Boulevard – known for hosting the New Year’s Day Tournament of Roses Parade – closes to accommodate the Colorado Main Stage. Non-stop music throughout the day continues on main stages in streets surrounding the historic Pasadena Playhouse and the 1930s band shell at Memorial Park. Fans can also find impressive lineups at the Paseo Colorado Stage, Vroman’s Jazz Stage, and The Shoppes at Stats Stage. Neighborhood boutiques and restaurants, vendor booths, and food trucks help make it a full day of entertainment. Even the Pasadena Transit buses are part of the fun! They link all of the main stages, run free all day, and feature live music on board.
This year’s lineup presents a curated selection of established and homegrown acts that embrace eclecticism, innovation, and genre-bending diversity. From the ambient, driving pop of Atlas Genius (Australia) to the shimmering feel-good indie-folk of The Mowgli’s (Los Angeles); from indie punk quartet Bear Hands or synth-pop band Small Black (both hailing from Brooklyn) to the rhythm-driven, reggae-folk Nahko and Medicine for the People (Portland), attendees have the opportunity to take in an impressive breadth of music while experiencing a unique downtown festival setting.
