SHOP PASADENA
The prosperity of Pasadena is dependent on the financial health of our local business community. One simple way everyone who lives, works or does business in Pasadena can aid in the continued recovery of our local economy is to spend money with Pasadena businesses.
Shop Pasadena, an informational campaign collaboration between the City of Pasadena and the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce,
Sales tax dollars, business license fees, property taxes and other assessments paid by commercial interests return money to Pasadena to pay for essential services such as park maintenance, tree trimming, police and fire protection. These fees and taxes also support our local public schools and Pasadena City College. Spending in Pasadena also preserves local jobs, maintains local businesses and even saves travel time and reduces fuel consumption.
“Our Shop Pasadena campaign encourages everyone to think locally when buying during the holiday season and beyond,” said Paul Little, ceo of the Pasadena Chamber. “Our local businesses contribute to the excellent quality of life in Pasadena and every dollar retained in Pasadena pays a dividend to our community.”
We all take advantage of the high quality of services provided by the City of Pasadena to support the quality of life in our neighborhoods and the vitality of our commercial areas and business districts. Shopping with our local stores and eating in our local restaurants in something we can all do to help preserve and grow jobs in Pasadena for Pasadena residents.
If we want to keep our favorite businesses open and continue to have high quality services provided by the City, there is a simple thing we can all do: support local businesses.
Shop Pasadena features bus shelter ads that are on display throughout Pasadena from mid-November to mid-January. The City of Pasadena partners with the Chamber to promote shopping in Pasadena during the holidays. The ads were designed in partnership with students in the Pasadena City College Design and Advertising Program. Outfront Media/JC Deceaux generously provides bus shelter space for the oversized poster campaign.
"The PCC students, under the guidance of Associate Professor Jerry Graves, did a great job," said Mr. Little. "They were creative, focused and collaborated to put togetheran excellent bus shelter ad campaign for us".
