The Pasadena Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors at its most recent meeting voted to endorse passage of Measure L the extension of the Library Tax in Pasadena on the November 8^th ballot. The Measure would cost single family homeowners and owners of condominiums $41 per year on their property tax bill. It would generate $2,800,000 to support library services.

The pandemic caused tectonic shifts in the job market as workers young and old quit and searched for something better — in their work or in their life. According to the Pew Research Center, a little more than half of adults ages 55 and older had ditched the grind by late 2021, compared with 48% in the months before the first case of COVID-19 was recorded.

Cases: Pasadena Public Health reported 16 new cases and no fatalities on Friday, September 30th. LA County reported 1682 cases on Friday and 6 deaths.

Cases: On Friday, September 22nd, Pasadena reported 22 new cases of COVID and no new fatalities. 99.9% of Pasadena's have had at least one does of the vaccine. 93% are fully vaccinated. The LA County Department of Health reported 1641 new cases on Saturday, September 23rd. (This includes cases in Pasadena and Long Beach which have their own health departments.) LA County reported 13 deaths on Saturday.

The Pasadena Chamber networking lunch and breakfast have been drawing Chamber members and others since we restarted in February. Cases: Pasadena Public Health reported 16 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, September 16th. There was one new fatality in the city. Pasadena has seen 35, 782 cases and 432 deaths since the pandemic began. LA County reported 1,944 new cases on Friday, September 16th and 16 deaths. LA County has recorded 3,437,648 cases and 33,447 deaths since the pandemic began. The 7-day daily average of cases is 5.65% per 100,000 people in LA County.
