During Pasadena Restaurant Week, the local dining community offers special preparations, innovative meals and great deals on two-course lunch and three-course dinner menus. The 2017 event, which runs from April 30th to May 5th, brings special menus from some of Pasadena’s favorite dining destinations. (Note-some restaurants may not participate on May 5th due to Cinco de Mayo events.)
Chef Akira Hirose of Maison Akira is offering Homemade Duck pate with Roasted baby Carrots or Corn Lobster Bisque followed by Mediterranean Loup de Mer in a Chardonnay Ikura Sauce of Beef Short Rib Bourguinon with Mixed Vegetable and Matcha Crème Brulee and Flourless Lime Cake for dessert at $45 per person. For $20, Plate 38 is serving a lunch of Roasted tomato bisque or Endive, traviso and wild rocket salad, followed by an entrée of House made capellini pasta, any of their burgers or Achiote marinated fish tacos. Gourmet dinner options at Plate 38 include Oxtail and charred octopus stuffed bone marrow or warm vichyssoise followed be entrée offerings including Smoked jalapeno and miso marinated black cod and Prime coulette steak with dessert of Chocolate praline cake or warm apple and white chocolate bread pudding, priced at $45 per person.
At Celestino Ristorante, Calogero Drago is serving Zuppetta di Calamari (Calamari stew with Cannelini Beans & sage) or Carpaccio di Bue con Arugula among the appetizer choices, followed by a entrée choices that include Scaloppine di Pollo con funghi (Chicken Scaloppine with Mushroom sauce) or Risotto al Nero di Seppie con scampi e Capesante (Squid in Risotto with Shrimp and Scallops) followed by dessert choices including Sorbetti misti and Cannoli alla Siciliana. For lunch, Sushi Roko in Old Pasadena offers Seared Salmon Sashimi, Organic kale Salad or Fried Calamari appetizers with a Six Piece Sushi Assortment and Spicy Tuna Roll, Sea bass Sliders or Ji-Dori Free Range Chicken with a Mini Chocolate Volcano with Vanilla Ice Cream or Sorbet and Fresh Fruit for dessert, for $20 per person.
At Del Frisco’s Grille the $45 dinner menu includes appetizers of Cheesesteak Eggrolls or Deviled Eggs, entrees of Prime Beef Short Rib Stroganoff or Mesquite Smoked Pork Chop with Turtle Cheesecake, Salted Caramel Pudding jar or Nutella Bread Pudding for dessert. Green Street Restaurant is offering a $32 dinner menu that includes appetizers of Corn Chowder or Chicken Posole Soup, a Small Caesar Salad or Small Green Street Salad with main course offerings including Steak and Dianne, Ginger Flank Steak or Snapper with Orange Chipotle Vinaigrette and Green Street Carrot Cake or Green Street Brownie for dessert.
The Terrace at the Langham Huntington Hotel offers a $36 dinner menu that features Crispy Brussels, Grilled Asparagus or Market Lettuce Salad appetizer, red Snapper, Lomo Saltado or Ricotta Gnocchi entrees and Caramel Apple Cheesecake, Strawberry Crème Brulee Macaroon or White Chocolate Raspberry Almond Log for dessert. POP Champagne offers a $36 dinner menu featuring Truffle Mac ‘N Cheese, Herb Shrimp, Champagne Chicken or Filet Mignon (for an additional $5) entrees. The entrée options at Vertical Wine Bistro include Rack of Lamb, Saffron Couscous and Brick Chicken for $45 per person.
Three new Pasadena restaurants are also offering specials during Pasadena Restaurant Week. Alma de la Rosa in Old Pasadena has a Caesar with Pepitas for Two with an entrée of Seared Yellowfin Tuna with Avocado Butter, Pickled Chiles, Cucumbers and a dessert of Mexican Chocolate Terrine and Cardamom Ice Cream for $45 per person. Flemings Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar offers Lobster Bisque or Potato Leek soup followed by an entrée of Porcini Crusted Filet Mignon or Classic Cobb Salad paired with either shrimp, crabmeat or chicken with a choice of either NY Cheesecake or Creme Brulee for dessert, all for $35. For $20, True Food Kitchen offers a lunch that may include Edamame Dumplings or Chioggia Beet Bruschetta and a Grilled Chicken Salad or Grilled Fish Tacos.
