Here is the January Community Brief from Pasadena PD. As a reminder, this information provides a greater awareness to the Pasadena community. The critical events detailed below are merely a snapshot of the more than 600 calls received to the Police Communications Center every day.
As you may be aware, the City has seen a continuation of shootings in the first month of 2022, one of which resulted in the murder of a 14-year-old. Detectives are working tirelessly on the investigations and your police department continues to put out extra patrols and resources to prevent further violence. Undoubtedly, these efforts are decreasing the number of violent confrontations, but more preventative measures must be put into place by all stakeholders in our community. With the support of City Council, the Police Department continues to analyze different technological advances to assist in solving crime but we must realize technology won’t end the violence, intervening and preventing crime before it occurs, is the true answer.
This information provides a greater awareness to the Pasadena community. The critical events detailed below are merely a snapshot of the calls received to the Police Communications Center every day. Your police department strives to better serve the Pasadena community. Interim Police Chief Cheryl Moody continues to adhere to the principles of the “Pasadena Way” as she leads the Police Department into its new chapter. These principles will forever have a lasting impact on all employees who serve in the organization, as we continue to police with compassion and best intentions.
